More than just a brand, we are a mindset, a way of being, and a community here to support and inspire your equine journey. 

 A conversation among equine friends sparked a need for BRAVE PANTS©, which was then formalised in June 2021. God knows, we need some bravery in this epic sport!  

Developed by sporting specialists, BRAVE PANTS© apparel is designed to provide a rider beyond just the physicality of its product. Every component of this brand is here to support you mentally, socially, physically and emotionally. From our support group, to our sport psychology, we want you to believe in your own story and step up out of your comfort zone, knowing you have a whole team behind you. 

With material that is designed to provide optimal range of movement, durability to last, and comfort beyond measure, we have designed this company to improve your overall performance and riding experience.

Meet the Designer
Rose Cruden

 Rose Cruden
 My passions in life have always been centered around sports and sports performance. Understanding the body and analyzing the elements that we can enhance to improve our performance in any sport have deeply influenced the building blocks of this brand. It is the driving force of our company - how can we help our customers perform to their best through our products? 
I have completed both my degree and Master's degree in the study and teaching of physical performance. And, now I am putting these expertise into creating products that help you perform better.

I’m inspired by all things colourful; Spring, Autumn, lovely pastels, and floral designs. Since equestrian is a classical and traditional sport, I like to work with materials that showcase both past and present fashions within the sport.

Born and bred from a farming family, fashion and practicality is always a tough combination, but it's something that I am inspired to create and achieve for my customers. 

OUR STORY - The Founder

 From a farming family in small town Bunnythorpe, New Zealand, I have always loved adventure and sport. You will see me out and about in a number of sporting codes, or walking the trails of New Zealand. This is why functional and practical fashion is important to me.


Along side this, sport has been my passion from an early age. My parent's articulating that there's no such job where I would get to play games all day. Well, I proved them wrong when I became a Physical Educator. As I grew my knowledge and began my Masters Degree, I began to understand 1. the complexities and intricacies of performance and 2. that you can not have one without the other. That is to say, you will never physically perform well if you can't mentally and emotionally perform on the same level. And when creating this brand I knew the potential it had to provide more than just apparel.


We are starting from the ground up! Building our collection on each order. So while things are selling out very quickly, it won't take long before we are established enough to do those big quantity orders. Good things take time!

Lucy Olphert

Multiple Grand Prix Show Jump winner, Lucy has created not only a name for her self as rider but she also is the founder of the Global Amateur Tour and coach extraordinaire.  She recently won the 7-year-old Series on her ever so consistent Kiwi Strike. Now overseas on tour, she is helping other riders gain international experience as she coaches them leading up to some of the biggest shows in the world.

Monica Spencer

Monica is no stranger to the Eventing community. With multiple 4* accolades to her name including a podium finish at the recent Melbourne International, Monica has her eyes set for big thing to come. Apart of the New Zealand High performance Event rider team, she is definitely in need of some Brave Pants to continue her courageous journey to the top.

Lucy Fell

Lucy Fell needs no introduction but we just love to show off our amazing sponsored riders. We actually created a poem for social media to introduce Lucy into our team so here goes:


We thought we’d introduce our ambassador with a new rhyme,

Can you guess who she is? She’s a mother with no time.

She owns two studs, Fairdale and Duncan.

Ones for horses and ones her husband.

She’s travelled the world riding and grooming,

Where she was taught by the best to jump and go zooming.

Two-time Lady Rider of the year,

And multiple wins at Grand Prix Premier.

With World Cup winner as part of her resumé,

You can count on her to put on a display.

Now with two kids to chase around,

You’ll see her at shows trying the track them down.

Despite her busy-ness she still competes at the top,

And now she has her Brave Pants, has no plan to stop.

Lucy Dagnell

Lucy is a 24 year old equestrian rider located in the Waikato with a team of four horses. Lucy works for EventStars Ltd (a super organisation who on-sell TB off the track) and is renown for her kind and consistent approach with horses. Lucy owns the infamous "Juvie" who has gained a lot of attention on her workplaces page and she has done a great job of producing many TB to a high level.


We think with the amount of different horses Lucy is exposed to each day, she needs her BRAVE PANTS© on 24/7!
